Nearby areas of interest, include the bustling FM 1960 to the south, Conroe, Texas to the north, and Houston, TX. (The nation's forth-largest city only about 20 minutes south.)

If you are the outdoors type, you will enjoy the Spring, TX area because it's part of the East Texas region...long admired as one of the most appealing areas of Texas. 

East Texas is known for it's abundant pines trees and excellent hunting, fishing and boating.  Just east of Spring, Texas you'll find Lake Conroe, one of the largest lakes in Texas and part of the municipal water supply for the City of Houston. It is a great area for bicycling, motorcycling, hiking, and camping.

The Spring independent School District is known for being one of the best schools districts in Texas.  The teachers in these schools teach a wide variety of subjects and the kids enjoy plenty of extracurricular activities.

The economy of Texas has fared better than most other states recently and that means that jobs are relatively plentiful here. A recent census showed median income as approximately $60,000 per year and it's recently been announced that Exxon Mobil plans on building a 'corporate campus' along I-45 North, just to the west of Spring. This will undoubtedly have a further positive effect on growth and the availability of jobs.
